 Home Renovations

In October this year Karen and I bought a dumpy old house, to finally get out of the rent trap.  Here we'll document the slow and messy process of turning a neglected and abused hovel into a liveable home!

This foul fluffy stuff ("flocking" is the proper name) was in four rooms... it took us a weekend to strip it, and filled a wheelie bin with the stuff

Love that carpet... not!!.. every room was different...

This room was once a bathroom, it's so small it couldn't be anything else...

The lounge room, complete with fake wood panelling added some time in the 70's...

Down the hall to the "new" section, bathroom, toilet laundry and 3rd bedroom.

Dizzy carpet in the 3rd bedroom

The kitchen... lots of work to be done here folks!

The only un-bricked side of the house..

The front yeard, and exterior of the house. Underneath the ugly brick is (apparently) original weatherboards.

Undercoating - hooray for 3-in-1!

A new career as a tradesman? I don't think so...

Lorna stripping cornices

The soon-to-be en-suite (AKA the tool room)

Ash prepping the toilet for painting

Good riddance to fake wood panel!

The corridor now looks twice as wide than it did with the dark wood panel.

Chunky (but freshly painted) ceiling in the study

Go go gadet roller extension!
