Sustainable Energy
Research Group
The University of Queensland Sustainable Energy Research Group (SERG) was formed in 2000 within the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE). Formation of this innovative research group occurred when core members of the highly successful UQ SunShark Solar Racing Team commenced postgraduate research study within the School of ITEE. Since then, projects have expanded from work on the UltraCommuter vehicle, to stationary solar research, to hydrogen energy systems. The multi-disciplinary research group now has members across the ITEE and the School of Engineering, with projects in fields as diverse as life-cycle assessment, enviornmental impact and materials for polymer electrolyte fuel cells and solid oxide fuel cells.
