Yu received B.Eng and M.Eng degrees from the Xidian University, Xi’an, Shannxi, China, in 2002 and 2006 respectively, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Queensland in 2011. He is currently working in the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at the University of Queensland, Australia..

Research Interests
  • Magnetic Resonance (MR) Engineering (Electromagnetic Analysis in MRI, key Hardware design, prototype and testing etc.).
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI parallel imaging, Pulse and sequence design, etc.)
  • Computational Electromagnetics (Inverse problem solution in Electromagnetism and its application to MRI coils design, etc.).

  • High field (3T above) MRI RF coil/array system design.
  • High performance asymmetric gradient coils for extremity imaging.
  • RF and Gradient coils design and prototype for hybrid MRI scanners (PET, Linac-MRI).
