Biography

Aleksandar D. Rakic has over 15 years of experience working in the field of photonics. He is recognized for his contributions in the areas of semiconductor lasers and laser sensing and has more than 140 papers and two book chapters to his credit. He currently leads a cross-disciplinary R&D team developing hardware and software for self-mixing sensors. He is the Director of Electrical Engineering and a Professor with the School of IT and Electrical Engineering, The University of Queensland. Dr Rakic received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering/Engineering Physics and the M.Eng.Sci. degree in Optoelectronics from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Queensland, Australia.
