Workshop Announcement

AusCTW 2005 will bring together Australian researchers in physical layer communications and related areas. This 2.5-day Workshop provides an opportunity for researchers and postgraduate students to gather in a largely informal environment to share ideas, make contacts and foster collaborative research links. Previous workshops have been immensely successful in building links and networks between researchers around the country. This year marks the sixth Australian Communications Theory Workshop, which will be held in Brisbane, Qld, from Wednesday, February 2 through Friday, February 4, 2005.

Program Information

Invited Talks

There will be several invited overview presentations and 12 invited technical presentations.

Contributed Papers

Papers presenting previously unpublished results on theoretical aspects of communication systems in the following and related areas are solicited:
  • coded modulation
  • coding theory and practice
  • communication systems
  • channel characteristics and modeling
  • detection and estimation
  • ultra-wide band communications
  • OFDM and DMT processing techniques
  • DSP for communications
  • information theory and statistics
  • iterative decoding algorithms
  • multiuser detection
  • space-time coding and processing
  • fourth generation cellular systems
  • blind signal separation techniques
All contributed papers will be subject to peer review. Accepted papers will appear in full in the published proceedings and will therefore be fully DEST-compliant. Accepted papers will be assigned a slot for presentation in the poster sessions. The standard of accepted submissions will be equivalent to that of Globecom or ICC. Full papers are to be submitted electronically via the EDAS paper submission system http://www.edas.info/Conferences.cgi. More detailed author/submission instructions can be found at the AusCTW 2005 website, whose address is shown below.

Poster Sessions

It is not necessary to submit a full paper in order to present at the Workshop. To facilitate maximum participation, poster slots will be allocated to anyone who submits a title and brief abstract by October 29, 2004. [Abstracts are to be submitted to submit.ausctw@anu.edu.au, not via the EDAS site.] Single-page versions of all abstracts received by this date will be printed and distributed to Workshop attendees, but are not subject to review. After this date, poster slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to limitations on available space. Prizes will be awarded for the best student presentations.
