3 August: If you have installed at home the genesis folder from the genesis.zip file from either the CD-ROM in the back of Java Genesis (2nd Edition) or from the G-Drive on the lab machines (before 2pm today), you will find that the folders do not contain any .kawa files. This means when you run any program for the first time you will need to set up a Kawa project (select the Project-New option in Kawa, navigate to the folder containing the code, and insert a project name; when the project name appears in the Kawa Tab window, select the Add File option and add all the .java files in the folder in question). To help you we've now placed an updated genesis.zip file on the lab G-Drive, and added a copy to our web page for you to download. This updated version of genesis.zip contains the .kawa files so that projects can be opened immediately by selecting the Project-Open option in Kawa, navigating to the folder containing the code, and selecting the .kawa option displayed there. 21 July: SCHEDULED LAB SESSIONS. The times for the lab sessions have now been decided. They will be held each week in 78-122 on Tues at 11am, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm and Friday at 9am, 10am, 11am, 2pm and 4pm. Each session lasts 1 hour. There is no need to sign-up for the session(s) you wish to attend; simply show up. Lab classes will begin in Week 1, i.e. starting Tues 27th July.
