Statement on C:

All the examples given in this course will be presented in C.

Those who have no prior experience in C will find the course more difficult than those who do have C-experience as they will need to focus their attention on learning both OpenGL and  C.  This does not exclude those without C experience from taking COMP3201 but such students must be aware of the extra work involved.

This course teaches OpenGL and there are no catch up facilities for learning or revising C skills.  Such skills should be acquired elsewhere.

Students who have not yet completed COMP2502 (in either Java or C) will find their lack of programming experience a disadvantage in learning further languages and APIs (such as OpenGL).  Such students will find COMP3201 easier after attaining the programming experience provided by COMP2502.

Students who have completed COMP2502 in Java will need to learn C  but will find this task easier than those who have not yet completed COMP2502.
