Research strength in the area of software maintenance has developed out of a synergy between the programming languages and information systems research groups within the Department. This strength led to the establishment of the Centre for Software Maintenance (CSM) in November 1995. The CSM consequently focuses on all aspects of the post-deployment phases of the software life cycle. The CSM is located in the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at The University of Queensland.
