Abstract:
Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) waveforms are generally created digitally using a binary counter followed by a digital comparator. I'll show an alternative method of generating these PWM waveforms using an adder and comparator or just an adder alone. Advantages include - the ease of generating different phase shifted PWM waveforms and - more precisely defined frequency with lower clock freqs - greater resolution with lower clocks. I'll show some spectral results from Matlab.
