USB Host Controller Support for Microblaze uClinux and the Egret Platform
Seminar Information

Speaker: Hasjim Williams

When: 1:00PM Thursday 21st October 2004

Venue: 78-420

Abstract:

This Masters of Engineering (course-work) project seminar presents results from the design and implementation of USB host controller support for the Microblaze uClinux kernel. Topics covered include an overview of the USB protocol, and discussion of existing support for USB hosts within the embedded Linux architecture.

Linux and USB host capability allows the rapid prototyping of embedded system applications, through USB's Plug-and-Play capabilities. The embedded system designer may rapidly assemble the requisite peripherals, such as storage, network connectivity, input devices and so on, and then concentrate on the system integration software at a fairly high level.

A demonstration of the USB host controller with one or more consumer USB peripherals is anticipated.
