Rapid Prototyping of Real-Time Reconfigurable Systems-on-Chip
Egret is a Reconfigurable System-on-Chip (RSoC) prototyping platform developed within the Embedded Systems Group. Its core objective is to support the rapid prototyping and development of real-time embedded systems, within the RSoC paradigm. It utilises the uClinux embedded operating system, augmented by the RTAI real-time Linux extensions to provide hard real-time process support. uClinux and RTAI were ported to the Xilinx Microblaze soft-core processor by the staff and students of the ESG.
