For those who are using Mac:
A student ask me about why she cannot connect to MySQL using
MAMP. From what I heard (I do not have Mac now, so cannot do
testing. But what I know from some friends) is that the default
username and password are both "root". If possible, please
email me whether this information is correct and useful. Thx!
^_^
-
For connecting to Oracle in ITEE, you need to get
your username and password. You need to get from here:
http://studenthelp.itee.uq.edu.au/oracle/resetpw.php
-
Since next Monday is Holiday, as stated in the
specification in the prac, those who need to demonstrate on Monday
will be delayed to the Monday immediately after the holiday (so, you
have 2 pracs to demonstration on that day), or you can choose to
make demonstration on Tue or Wed prac sections.

There are quite some confusion about "Week".
Hence, all deadlines are re-written as the "date on or before"
-
I have added the "submit" button on Task 2 Figure
one. If you have already done your practical without the submit
button, but can still display the result, then that's fine.
Otherwise, please write the submit button as well.
-
No class next week. Happy Easter!
|
| 2009 / 04 / 08 |
- I have added one more slide (P.11) in the Supplementary Lecture
Note.
|
| 2009 / 04 / 07 |
- I have created a Supplementary Note about Java and JSP. I will
also briefly discuss it during the lecture.
-
Amendment for the deadline: For Practical 4, you
must present this practical to your lab tutor during your scheduled
lab session in week 8 (I have written week 7
before, but week 7 is mid-semester break. So no class.) There
are totally 2 tasks. In case of holiday for a practical session, the
deadline will be postponed to its immediate next week for that
practical session.
|
| 2009 / 04 / 06 |
- Some modifications on Lecture Note 6 P.25, P.33 and P.34.
|
| 2009 / 03 / 17 |

- Note about Practical:
- You need to attend ONE practical session in each week only.
- You need to sign-on from the mySI-Net for one particular session.
- The pre-requisites in Lecture Note 1 is modified.

| Practical Notes: |
|
You must present the practical to your lab tutor
during your scheduled lab sessions. You must do sign-on for one weekly
practical session using mySI-Net. If your lab session is 2-4pm Monday,
for example, you can present the practical to your lab tutor at any time
between 2 - 4pm Monday in the specific week written in the Practical.
Submission of your work after 4pm Monday (for this example) in the
specific week will be regarded as late submission (and the late
submission penalty, as stated in the course profile, will apply). You
should not present your work at any time other than your scheduled
sessions, to other tutors or the lecturer, to submit via email, or to
bring it to the tutor/lecturer's office without prior agreement.
Please spend time on debugging by yourself. Don't ask
for your tutor to do debugging for you!
In case of public holiday for a practical session, the deadline will be
postponed to its immediate next week for that practical session

- Programming the
World Wide Web (3rd ed), Robert W. Sebesta, 2005 by Addison
Wesley.
- suitable for use as a textbook, with clear description and
well-structured content, with review questions and exercises.
However, its coverage to specific technologies is not sufficient
for a programmer.
- Core Web
Programming (2nd ed), Marty Hall and Larry Brown, 2001 by
Prentice Hall.
- a book for programmers, with a large number of useful code
and detailed introduction to technologies. But it's a bit out of
date already.
