Q: "If our group are having difficulties with C#,
are we allowed to use J2EE instead?"
A: No. You have to use .NET. Q: "To acces the access MDB database, do we need to use an MS SQL Server or can we use the Jet engine for local access and load the database into a DataSet? Having the requirement for an SQL Server greatly limits us as we both do not have the computing power to run a server on our laptops and also having access to the software (except for using pre-release software such as SQL Server Express. What should we use for data access?" A: You can use any database server you like, as long as the system works. Notice that our project focuses on the system structure design and service composition, not the database design. Q: "What does the "business scenario" means?" A: It basically specifies the system requirements and what the system will do.
Q: "In the Project, Will you give
us a specific points/application which should be in the project
which will be marked during the Demo.?"
A: Yes, exactly. Topic: Exam Q: "Is the exam going to be multiple choices?" A: No. All are short and long questions. Topic: Textbook Q: "I went through the library material but I didn't find any books for Service Oriented Architectures. Please let me know should I buy the book mentioned in the course profile as there is only 1 book in the library." A: I have informed the library to buy the text book: "Alonso, G., Casati, F., Kuno, H., Machiraju, V. Web Services Concepts, Architectures and Applications, Springer, 2004. ISBN: 3-540-44008-9". Frankly, you do not need buy any text book from my point of view. First, you can find all the materials from internet. Second, there is no single textbook that covers all the materials of this course. The only problem with the internet is that there are too many websites talking about SOA. Topic: PracsQ: "With the submission of pracs, is it possible for me to do multiple pracs in one session ahead of their scheduled date when I will not be able to attend it?" A: Yes. It is possible, if the next pracs have been released. |
