Thanks for the encouragement.  It's certainly great news for me - for 
the first time I feel that the kernel is working with me, rather than 
against me!  It's such a relief after these months to finally be able to 
capitalise on some of the thousands of lines of code in the kernel, 
rather than fighting to try and conform to their (barely-documented) 
low-level interface.

Yes I did see that.  I took me by surprise I must admit, but I guess the 
show of confidence is nice! :)
