I had another thought - are you trying to build this from within XPS?

I haven't verified that mbvanilla_ddr builds properly within XPS - all 
of my work is done from the Xygwin command line using the Makefile.

So, try unzipping a fresh copy of the package, and from within the 
directory in a Xygwin shell do "make init_bram".  It should run to 
completion without errors.

It won't be difficult to get it going in XPS, probably the best thing is 
to create a "blank" project and just "import" the MHS file, get XPS to 
rebuild the project file from that.  I'm not sure, I don't really use 
XPS these days.

Someone else more familiar with XPS might have something to add here. 
If you do get it going, please send me the new xps project files so I 
can inorporate them back into the website copy.
