John,
How do we get the EMAC driver (or another ethernet driver) in the
ucLinux build? I only see options for some of the drivers when we run
menuconfig.
We are also going to try and connect the opencores.org ethernet mac.
Thanks, Tom

I have some problems to get the EMAC going.
Just adding the EMAC to the project and assigning the parameters and
the pin assignment I can access the EMAC with simple commands and
read/write to the register. However, I never see the link LED come on
when I connect the cable. I read the control regiser and the physical
interface is supposed to be enabled.
At least for revision 1, the ethernet PHY on the P160 module behaves
quite strangely. When I connect to a 10mbps link, I only get the link
LED, never the activity LED, even when many packets are going. Then,
when I connect to a 100mbps backbone, all 3 leds glow solid...
But anyway, returning to your question- yes the Link LED should glow.
What happens if you query the PHY MII registers via the EMAC? I forget
the register offset, but it's in the EMAC datasheet. You pass in a 5
bit (0->31) MII register and a query command, and it returns PHY
status info.
Do you plan to post the updated platform or
could you sent it to the list?
Yes, I will post mbvanilla_net - I'm at home now, but will do so
tomorrow when I return to work.
Regards,
John
