Curious timing - I was discussing this very issue with someone yesterday.
The mbvanilla platform contains a DCM that drops the 100MHz clock down
to 66mhz. I did this primarily to create some headroom for synthesis
and timing etc. With default Map and PAR options, I can't get this
platform to meet timing at 100mhz.
So no, you don't need to change the clock.
I'm experimenting at the moment with getting it going at 100mhz, i'll
report to the list if I have any success.
Regards,
John
