Hi Jari et al,

Thanks for providing so much detail - at first glance it seems like your 
board configuration (jumpers etc) is correct.

I put that demo package together without really having access to a Rev 3 
board at that time, so support for that board was always optimistic at 
best.

I suggest that you download the mbvanilla_net hardware project from the 
website, and try synthesising it yourself (just do "make download_prom" 
from the command line and it will do everything, including program the 
prom! You might need to tweak the file etc/download_prom.cmd).

Hopefully you have the latest 6.1 versions of EDK and ISE - if not you 
can still get a version of mbvanilla_net that works for EDK3.2.

The kernel image that was supplied with the demo should still work with 
the newest hardware, if you aren't ready for building kernels etc yet.

It really is time for a new demo package, isn't it... :)
