Hi Jan,

You're not the only one with these thoughts about the EMAC core!  We 
will soon be evaluating the CS8900A MAC/PHY - to see if that will do 
what we want.  It's no racehorse (10Mbit only), but the logical 
interface is ISA which is nice and simple.  An exchange student with our 
group has developed an OPB->ISA bridge, for this purpose.

Initially we are just buying a standalone CS8900A protoboard for 
testing, but if it proves successful we will ultimately integrate it 
into the H/W platform I'm currently working on.

Does the Suzaku press release (see archives for link) give any more info 
about their MAC/PHY?
