[microblaze-uclinux] What Simulator to use with MicroBlaze under Linux?

Hello,

I am a pretty Newbie to digital logic design and MicroBlaze and have a
question concerning simulation tools for the MicroBlaze. Now that ISE
and EDK are available under Linux I was wondering what alternative
simulation tools other than ModelSim or Riviera people are working with
under Linux?

I am interested in developing peripherals for the MicroBlaze and would
like to stay under a Linux environment. Looking for a simulation tool,
the ModelSim SE version and Riviera I believe are a size too big from
their capability what I need and the price they cost.

Are there any other Simulators, anybody has experience with, that run
under Linux and are suitable in conjunction with the MicroBlaze development?

I found a Simulator called 'VHDL Simili' from Symphony EDA which runs
under Linux, but I am not sure what to look for when I want to use it
for the MicroBlaze.

Thanks for your help.
