[microblaze-uclinux] SMSC LAN91C111
Hi everyone,
I am back on my quest to get the MEMEC SIIELC-600 board to work. It is a
platform using the Spartan IIE. I am happy to report that I got uClinux to
run.
The main thing was to disable the HW multiplier, as the Spartan IIE doesn't
have them. My board also runs on 50MHz which had to be modified in the
configuration. This eval board is available with either 300 or 600 macrocell
Spartan IIE device. As I have both boards, I tried them both. The 300
macrocell device doesn't have enough block ram for the 16k needed to make it
the same as the MBVanilla platform. But the 600 macrocell device is working.
Now I want to get the SMSC LAN91C111 lan chip to work. ..my choice of an
affordable solution without $$$s for the license..
I was happy to see that the driver for that chip is actually listed in the
configuration.
But after including the driver the network didn't work. I take it that there
is some place where I need to map the hardware address of the LAN chip into
the configuration?
Is there anybody that has used this MAC/PHY already to point me in the right
direction? Or are experiences with porting other MAC/PHY's applicable?
Help would very much be appreciated.
Hans Meyer
