OK.  As I said, I don't think it's the application, so much as its 
interaction with the serial/terminal driver.  That's why I am inclined 
to suspect my driver, rather than the lrzsz package!

I had similar lrz problems with both minicom and hyperterminal, it would 
sort of work but never complete.  It would also crash the xmbserial 
driver on microblaze.

To integrate into uClinux-dist it's a bit more complicated than that.  I 
did a basic ./configure with fairly standard options, then hacked the 
resulting Makefile to build within the uClinux-dist.  It might be useful 
  to you - look in uClinux-dist/user/lrzsz for details.

I don't recall any fancy configuration options, but I have no experience 
with PPC linux so....

I suggest you see if there's any info on any of the PPC linux lists - 
penguinppc.org might be a good place to start.
