I'd be surprised if there isn't alreadya port for this board - can 
anyone confirm?

Yes, that's right.  It just makes things easier when it comes to gettign 
the kernel configured properly.  We're hoping to improve this situation 
in the next couple of months, but for now it's the ismplest approach.
