Basically, cksum is a binary "linux" executable. The sources are
available online (from the coldfire ports page on uClinux.org IIRC).
If you are using Cygwin, then it will not run for you unless you build
a .exe version. If, somehow, you have done CRLF conversion on it,
likewise.

It isn't compiled locally. If you really need it I would locate a copy of
the source and build it for you platform, put it into the tree and then
it should run ok. Just to clarify, cksum is a binary compiled to run on
your development host. The on eincluded in the uClinux dist is a linux
executable.
