[microblaze-uclinux] Port to a new card
Hello,
I am interested in knowing a few things about porting microblaze-uclinux
to a new XC2V1000 board.
The first thing is the feasability of the thing : provided that the
card actually only has 2x512 Kbytes of external SRAM (plus the internal
720 Kbits from the embedded BRAM) am I going to be able to run a minimal
uclinux kernel ? By minimal I mean for example without networking
support since I don't have an Ethernet port on the card, but I would
need kernel module support for example. And how big is an average
uclinux kernel image ?
The second question is about the configuration of the design : I don't
have a Flash Memory module on my system (it is planned but not available
yet), and no Ethernet connection either, so I will have to reconfigure
the whole thing using "traditionnal" serial connections ? How long will
it take according with the basic kernel configuration of the first
question ?
Thank you
Valentin
