Re: [microblaze-uclinux] ML401 update

John,

what was the thing that made the FSL link work? I am having trouble with mine...

Also, did anyone read me last e-mail about the Ethernet access? I need to know what can and cannot work. I am not afraid to read, I just need some guidance for a newbie on this issue. Specifically I am looking into what I can do and how I can set it up. For instance, should the DHCP experimental driver work?

Also, Linux is not seeing the Intel Flash properly. It is not recognized. I specifically specified Intel strata Flash. Am I missing something obvious? I know these are newbie questions, I just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Thanks,

Apco25

Hi,

I finally had some time to spend with my ML401 hardware, and am happy to
say that the ml401 uClinux reference design worked first time. The only
wrinkle was that the FSL/MDM channel didn't work properly (for fast XMD
downloads). This is now fixed, in ml401_uclinux_ref v1.00b, and is up
on the website.

The kernel image produced by the MLD/TCL autoconfig booted up first time
to a login prompt, with full ethernet support and so on. I am really
pleased by this, and it confirms to me that the approach we have chosen
is the right one.

There's lots of potential for this platform - it is a perfect
opportunity to start working on framebuffer and audio drivers, for
example. I'll be looking into this on-and-off over the next couple of
weeks, so let me know if you make a headstart.

Cheers,

John
