Why do you want to use uClinux with the PowerPC?
You will find a complete Linux Supporting the PowerPC 405
of the VirtexII pro under http://www.penguinppc.org/kernel/#trees
I am currently using the linuxppc-2.4 tree with a custom
virtex board. It works perfectly well. So no need to do without the mmu.

Cheers,
Erik
