She FINALLY boots to the shell! Thanks for all of the help,
Tyrone, its much appreciated. For anyone who has had the same problem, heres what I did to fix it -- for any future reference... All that was necessary was to disable all hardware support for the microblaze in the kernel configuration. I disabled the MSR instruction, HW multiplier & divider, as well as the Barrel Shift. Since I'm booting from SDRAM, I used the Generic RAM/ROM support option under MTD--> Mapping Drivers --> Generic RAM/ROM Filesystem Support. This also explains the reason why uClinux_autoconfig did not work since it reflected the microblaze hardware settings. If anyone can explain why this is the case (when these particular settings ARE enabled within the Microblaze hardware configuration), I'd appreciate it.
