Jim,

Do you have a license for the Ethernet MAC core? If not, then this is the
behavior one would expect. The evaluation version of that core (which is
what ships with EDK) is rigged to stop working after some amount of time
after configuration and there have been reports (Xilinx doesn't actually say
how long) that the timeout time is on the order of hours.

I used a licensed version, in order to compile the "download.bit" file,
which I included in the archive. So, if you're using that file and observing
this then something else is going on.
