Yes, it is a good idea to upgrade the cores. I think that the John's
paper "Embedded Linux as a Platform for Dynamically Self-Reconfiguring
Systems-On-Chip" is the first previous work about it (using uCLinux, of
course). About my work, I have a paper and I need to look for it.

Yes, the use of Handle-C simplifies the development in order to obtain
quickly the designs. The problem when you implement a lot of cipher
cores is the area of the device. The partial reconfiguration is a good
solution to resolve this problem, you only implement the core that you
need :)

I did not implement a driver... I implemented functions to access
directly to the FSL buses (in uCLinux is not necessary to implement
drivers to have access to the hardware), but of course, I could use
John' FSL driver easily :)

About the MicroBlaze, yes, of course, the MicroBlaze is running during
the reconfiguration because it does the partial reconfiguration through
the SelectMAP interface (I used a GPIO to manages the SelectMAP using an
external connection).
