Re: [microblaze-uclinux] Building uClinux for Insight/Memec S3MB1500 board

Hi
You can find the answer in mailing list archive too ;-)

I'm new to both uClinux and the Microblaze and I'm hoping I can get some basic questions answered regarding building uClinux for the MicroBlaze on the Insight/Memec S3MB1500 board.
.snip.
Unfortunately, I don't see a "Target Platform Selection" menu item as indicated in the documentation on the MicroBlaze uClinux website. I'm not sure if this is because of recent changes to the uClinux source tree or not. I do see a "Vendor/Product/Selection --->" and "Kernel/Library/Defaults Selection --->" menu item. Is this what I should see?

yes

In any case I press on and choose "Vendor/Product Selection --->" to then select "Insight" as the Vendor and "mbvanilla_net" as the Insight Product. Then I exit these menus. I have a feeling this is where I'm going off track.

Wrong.
Use this:
select "Vendor/Product Selection --->"
then select "Xilinx" as the Vendor and "uclinux-auto" as the product

Next I then choose "Kernel/Library/Defaults Selections" and select "uClibc" and "Default all settings (lose changes)". I then exit these menus.

ok

When I exit where the make system goes through the kernel configuration process.

Is the process above at all correct configuring the uClinux kernel for the "Insight/Memec S3MB1500" hardware I'm targeting?

I apologize if this question is very basic, but hopefully I'll be able to pick this stuff up quickly once I learn the lay of the land a little better.

best regards
