I believe that's correct- I haven't looked at that for a while. The
functionality is just copied from the standalone BSP.

The issue is that even if uClinux is selected as the BSP, we still want
the "standalone" BSP processing to allow building bootloaders and so on.
 It would be nice if we could subclass or directly call the standalone
BSP after the uClinux processing, but I think that's not currently possible.
