Re: [microblaze-uclinux] Starting up questions

Thanks,

I have some decent contacts at Xilinx I can usually pry things out of early.
Though the linked message is somewhat confusing - ml403 and ml300 support (not through MV or wind river, has been in the kernel for well over a year. It is part of the distribution kernel.
My Pico E1x PPC BSP is based on it.

I also pried the microblaze stuff out of the uclinux linux-2.4.x  source and I am trying to build lkc to convert the config.in files to the new Kconfig format - in the event I end up doing this myself.

Regardless it does nto look too hard (maybe wishfull thinking) to atleast get the minimal Kconf stuff needed to build my own BSP. An awfull lot of the 2.4.x microblaze stuff has little bearing.
I already have drivers for most hardware. Most of the ml40x microblaze hardware is for stuff that is not part of my board - I have a cpu - Microblaze or ppc405, Ram, Flash (not Xilinx), a target-host fifio, uartlite, a pic, and a temac - all of which I already have drivers for. It appears I either need to revert my BSP to ocp, or advance the micoblaze stuff to platform devices, even most of the board specific code is not processor specific. I need to add a timer - but there seems to be one, and address the fpu.

Hi,
fortunately, some months ago some people scheduled the release of a 2.6 microblaze port for this December (read http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~listarch/microblaze-uclinux/archive/2006/08/msg00081.html). So you may be able to download in a few days (or just hours?). ;-)

For someone with
reasonable kernel skills, is it reasonable to assume that
migrating the
microblaze support to 2.6 would not be an insurmountable task ?
