Re: [microblaze-uclinux] Determining the MAC address on a Spartan 3e Starter Kit
Well, I eliminated thttpd from the kernel build and just as you
suspected it seems like it is hanging after that. I got TFTP to work
in u-boot and it does occasionally have packet loss, although not as
severe as yours.
In the middle of writing an email stating that I give up.. it came to
me what the problem was.
I remembered one important change I made. In a frantic struggle to get
the kernel to compile one night, I disabled agetty from the kernel
config. This was causing it to "hang"!
Setting up interface eth0:
bleep login: root
Password:
# ls
bin dev etc home lib mnt proc sbin tmp usr var
# cd bin
# ls
[ dhrystone killall rm
agetty echo ln rmmod
basename erase login sh
busybox eraseall ls shutdown
cat false lsmod telnetd
chmod flatfsd mkdir test
cmp free modprobe tftp
cp ftpd mount touch
cxx_constructor hd msh true
cxx_except hostname mv umount
cxx_exception httpd netflash uname
cxx_helloworld ifconfig passwd uptime
cxx_iostream inetd ping version
date init ps vi
dd insmod pwd wget
dhcpcd kill reboot
#
Thanks for your guidance. I almost gave up for good.
