Re: [microblaze-uclinux] Microblaze uClinux 2.6.19

Hi David,

The bootlog below might be of interest :)

2.6.x is not sufficiently complete for us to distribute with PetaLinux, but I appreciate people will want to try it and hopefully start working on the missing bits and pieces. I'm looking at a way to host a development tree so people can get hacking on it.

Some small changes are required in the userland build environment as well, so they'll be distributed as a patch for now.

Obvious kernel things missing or to be completed:

 - cache support
 - some low-level nastiness in entry.S to be audited and fixed
 - driver support
 - general stress testing of signal handlers, interrupts and so on
- /proc/cpuinfo is empty, as are a few other arch-provided /proc virtual files

No doubt a bit moer still to be discovered.

But, it's all prorgess.

John

It's not complete, apparently there's more coming in March/April timeframe.

We (PetaLogix) are looking at the patches and evaluating our approach to
completing it, revving forward to a recent kernel, and getting it
auto-configured etc.

Regards,

I will be starting with this shortly myself. I work for Pico
Computing http://www.picocomputing.com
They have a V5 board due out in March that will not have a PPC in it
that I am expected to put Linux onto.
I did the Linux port for the previous Pico boards and aside from the
missing PPC the new board will be very similar with very similar firmware.

I just DL'd the files and hope to look at them this weekend.

I would be happy to collaborate to whatever extent you may wish.
