Hi Shang,

I'm quite a newbie myself, but I guess it's not your baud rate (because
hyperterminal gives you strange characters when the baud rate is not
correctly set, and you're not seeing anything).

I know we had quite some trouble getting CompactFlash to work, so maybe
you can first try downloading the image with XMD to see if that works.
