Re: [microblaze-uclinux] RTLinux beta release

Hi John,

You can take a look to the LEGAL_AND_FAQ directory in the sources.

The RTLinux patent license has been controversial since the beginning. The
license says that if you are going to use just GPL code in your system along
with RTLInuxFree, all is OK. But, if you have propietary code, you need to
get a RTLinux PRO license contract or PRO support.

I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know what is the reach of this, since:

1) The RTLinux patent is just a EEUU patent.
2) The license is modifying the GPL license and it has not into account the
LGPL and how propietary apps are valid in the Linux model.

The last point is RTLinux technology was sold one month ago to WindRiver, and
there are not any comment about this license model from the new owners.
