uClinux vs. RTOS: (was: RE: [microblaze-uclinux] serial comunication in petalinux)

Nothing 100% ready-to-use. The main question is what real-time means in your case. The best is to confine yourself to the really needed real-time features, just to limit the effort of patching. Beside RTOS, you can try RTAI or some low-latency or preemption patches. They are for common Linux kernels and freely available on the net, but surely need some tweaks in .../arch/microblaze/*.[h|c]. I can advise contacting Petalogix, everybody knows they have excellent experience with that real-time stuff.
