Could it be that you're using handshaking and the output buffers fills up and the
kernel  stops? This is the case with JTAG-based console when the boot process stops
if you don't connect a JTAG-connector to the board.

Nope. Only with JTAG (see above).

PS. Do *not* re-use an old email by hitting the reply-button and just changing the

* you're too laze to write typing the to: address
* your mail client doesn't cache old addresses and auto-completes

You will _break_ the Messsage-ID reference chain that mail clients use to thread the
email view.
