A userspace/pthreads priority inversion shouldn't lockup the entire 
system, it should still be possible to CTRL C to kill the app.

There's something else going on - if you can produce a minimal but 
complete test case with no dependencies on custom devices or libraries 
etc, please post it so we can try and reproduce.
