Hello John, I used microblaze-uclinux-gdb in command line and it still takes very long (doesn't make fun to debug with this speed). I realized that the gdb was for the Petalinux 0.20 release even though I am using the 0.30-rc1 build. Thus I downloaded the toolchain sources from the petalogix site but the build scripts didn't work (haven't spend much time to look why until now). The start up and setting the breakpoint takes several seconds: # microblaze-uclinux-gdb --nx --nw --command tmp_gdb_init lcd_control.gdb GNU gdb 5.3PetaLinux 0.20 Build -rc1 Copyright 2002 Free Software Foundation, Inc. The gdb log file contains only a few read requests. I am working on a different platform as well and debugging with gdb is quite fast so my network setup seems to be ok. Do you have any ideas why microblaze-uclinux-gdb is so slow at my side? I will try next week to run microblaze-uclinuc-gdb from command line. Right now it takes 1 second or more to step through the code. Is this high latency due to the ethernet mac lite core? It has always been a bit slow (high latency) but I've not seen the crashes you report (particularly not on the host tool side).
