Glad it worked!

You should not run the configure script since the makefile in the
net-snmp root directory already checks for variables set by the
petalinux menuconfig.

I run the snmpd daemon with 'snmpd -c CONFIG_FILE -f &'
where CONFIG_FILE is a really simple configuration file (snmpd.conf)

Don't worry. The build log is not needed anymore.
