Postproduction Notes
Below find information regarding Final Cut Pro and creative commons sites that may be useful in your postproduction.
Please Note: See Assessment folder on the menu at left for tips on completing the Design section of your Production Report.
Congratulations to all the students who have presented work. All of the videos shown have potential and there
are some very good ones among them. As to the editing software you are using, some are sticking with imovie despite
its tendency to crash, some using their home software and some have moved onto Final Cut Pro. The attitude of the course
is that it's your choice to go with Final Cut Pro, given that you haven't been provided with any instruction on it. Below you'll find
some useful info from Jamie regarding Final Cut Pro. Check also his messages on the newsgroup. Don't hesitate to get in touch
with him if you have technical problems. That includes any problems with imovie. You can reply to his post on the newsgroup or
email him at student-helpdesk (ie the generic address for the helpdesk - he will get your email).

imovie 6 hd tutorial (works for hd and has more effects possibilities - written manual)
You will have done the tutorial in imovie 8.
We have since found that for working in hd it is necessary to use imovie 6.
Also that it has more effects, such as reverse motion slow and fast motion and transfer of colour to black and white.
But if you wish to work in imovie 8:
The following are examples of what you will find on the site above
see manuals page above for more
imovie 8 manual (getting started)
for a list of videoand tutorials and manuals see also imovie tutorial
also here is an article by Jeff Carlson about how to get imovie 8 to work for you. It appears that imovie 8 can't work with multiple tracks;
in face it is more flexible when working with multiple tracks. But the article warns that imovie '08 still has a long way to bo with editing audio.
