| Overall Goal: |
To bring together researchers at the leading edge
of complex systems modelling to learn about and develop Patterns for the field. |
| Specific Aim: | To develop submissions for the peer-reviewed Complex Systems Patterns Workshop II at ACAL*05. |
6 June (Day 1)
| 8.30 – 9am |
Registration and coffee |
| 9:00 – 10:30 |
Session 1 Introduction to patterns and their application to Complex Systems. Includes patterns-demo software as a demonstration of both the concept of software development patterns and how patterns can be applied to complex systems modeling, using visualization of network interactions as a case study. |

Morning Tea |
| 11–12:30pm |
Session 2 Discussion of workshop aims. Small group workshopping of submitted patterns. Presentation of small group results to whole group. |
| 12.30-1.30pm |
Lunch |
| 1.30-3pm |
Session 3 Identification of problem areas in complex systems modelling (algorithm design, visualization, analyses, …). Suggestions for potential patterns to address problems and development of proposals for ACAL submissions. |
| 3-3.30pm |
Afternoon tea |
| 3.30-5pm |
