Student Opportunities
Before talking to me, you will need to make sure that you meet the School's requirements for postgraduate study; explore links on that part of the School's web site, as most of the information you need, as well as pointers to people who know the rules for application and funding, are to be found there.
UQ ITEE Students
If you are already at UQ, talk to me about Honours and PhD projects.
Thinking of PhD at UQ
If you are not at UQ, you will need a strong track record in Computer Science with background in Architecture or Networks to take on any of my projects. You will need to have good results generally, and some practice at writing a research paper, report, dissertation or thesis either through an undergraduate research project in a 4-year degree or a research Masters (or of course PhD in some other area). If your home language is not English, you will need to meet the university's standards for English proficiency.
Students from Africa
I have page with specific advice for students from Africa who wish to do a PhD at UQ.
Internships
I do not have funding to support internships; the School when I last checked had no such funding either, and charged a bench fee of about $5000. If you have your own funding and are interested in anything I do, let me know. Please do not expect a detailed response to unsolicited mail especially if it is obviously of a general nature and not specific to my interests.
