Aleksandar holds Dipl.-Ing. (BE Hons.) degree in Electrical Engineering/Engineering Physics and M.Eng.Sci. in Optoelectronics and Laser Engineering both from the University of Belgrade, and PhD in Electrical Engineering from The University of Queensland.

He is currently the Director of Electrical Engineering Programme and Senior Lecturer within the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.

His research interests include design, optimisation and characterisation of vertical-cavity surface-emitting devices and laser based sensors
