Current Status:

  • Senior Research Fellow (Schools of Psychology & ITEE, The University of Queensland). 

Academic Background:

2005: Completed a PhD in Cognitive Science.  The title of the thesis was: "FAE: the Fluid Analogies Engine.  A dynamic, hybrid model of perception and mental deliberation."
1997: Received first class honours in Cognitive Science from the University of Queensland
1995: Completed a double major in Cognitive Science from the University of Queensland

Awards & Scholarships

1998-2001: APA Scholarship for PhD Studies
1997: Received a University Medal for academic performance (overall GPA for undergraduate courses = 6.5/7.0)

Employment History

2002-2004 Programmer/Research Assistant in the Key Centre for Human Factors and Applied Cognitive Psychology, primarily working on Leximancer, a commercial text mining package.
2002 Subject Coordinator and Lecturer for COGS4021 (Cognitive Computing) in the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.
