ITEE/Chem.Eng. seminar: Joany Tisdale, 10.00AM, Thu 29 May 2003
Energy Systems for Rural Electrification in Lesser Developed Nations
Speaker: Joany Tisdale, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
When: 10.00AM, Thursday 29 May 2003
Venue: 78-622
Host: Andrew Dicks, Chem.Eng.
Abstract:
Joany Tisdale's interests are in the design of a fuel-cell based energy system for remote applications, specifically in lesser developed nations. Currently, she is exploring various existing energy systems, both fuel-cell based and non-fuel-cell based. The fuel-cell based systems being considered are: solar and wind with a PEM electrolyser and PEM fuel cell, and molten carbonate fuel cell with biodigesters. Joany will discuss her work in this area, and also give an overview of fuel cell research occuring at MIT.
