ITEE Ph.D confirmation seminar: Oscar Pozzobon, 09.00AM, Tue 28 Oct 2003
Secure location services - Vulnerability analysis and provision of security in location systems
Speaker: Oscar Pozzobon, ITEE
When: 09.00AM, Tuesday 28 Oct 2003
Venue: 78-622
Host: Dr. Kurt Kubik
Abstract:
This work identifies a number of critical infrastructure applications that are reliant on location services from cooperative location technologies such as GPS and GSM. It is shown that these location technologies can be represented in a general location model, such that the model components can be used for vulnerability analysis. It is performed a vulnerability analysis on these components of GSM and GPS location systems as well as a number of augmentations to these systems. A solution based on this model is proposed to trust the location data in satellite navigation systems, using public key based digital signatures.
