World Hydrogen Energy Conference 2008 Report  http://www.fair-pr.com/meet-aae/whec2008/

THE CSIRO ENERGY TRANSFORMED FLAGSHIP and

THE AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF ENERGY

Invite you to a Workshop

“Hydrogen Research in Australia”

Brisbane City Council Conference Centre, Level 16, Brisbane Square

27-28 November 2008

In June 2008 the World Hydrogen Energy Conference (WHEC 2008) was held in Brisbane.  This was the first time in its long history that this major event has been held in Australia.  Attracting almost 700 delegates, it provided an opportunity for Australian researchers to promote their work, and for delegates to hear of progress in hydrogen energy technology around the world.  During this year, the Department of Energy Resources and Tourism has also produced a National Hydrogen Technology Roadmap that has been submitted to the Council of Australian Governments (COAG).   This workshop aims to discuss the outcome from both the conference and the recommendations of the roadmap,  and what this means for Australia in the future.

The workshop is in two parts. The first day is open to all stakeholders in hydrogen energy, in the research community, government and industry.   The first half day aims to build on the outcomes of the WHEC 2008, discussing the role of the Australian Institute of Energy and the recommendations of the Hydrogen Technology Roadmap.  The remainder of day 1 will showcase some of the leading research in the National Hydrogen Materials Alliance.  The second day is a workshop for members of the National Hydrogen Materials Alliance only.
